These videos represent where I was, but they do not really reflect where I am now at. From late 2007 to early 2009, "Torahrevival" was a means by which I was able to publicly work through various issues regarding the Bible. I had lots of fun in that time and learned lots of things. One important thing I have learned is the importance of evaluating your beliefs and being open to correction. And also not being so quick to judge others.

I now no longer believe that the Bible is a special revelation from the Creator of the Universe.

Instead, I now understand the Bible to be a collection of Israelite texts. It preserves various traditions, ideas, histories, polemical writings, poetry, wisdom literature, etc.

I think there is kernel of historical truth to much of the Bible. I also think that there is much to be learned about life. However, I do not think that anyone is under any obligation to live by the precepts laid out in the Bible. In fact, I think there are some extremely serious moral and philosophical flaws in the teachings of the Bible.

I have a growing playlist of videos (mainly by other people) on my other channel - Youtube.com/AfricansArise - which discuss some of the various issues that "led me out of the Bible."

I should clarify, I am not an atheist. I am very much open to spiritual concepts and worldviews. In fact, I now feel able to objectively look at various belief systems without having to judge them according to the Bible.

With regard to this channel, I have no plans to delete it or the videos on it. Even though I no longer believe most of that I say in the videos, I will be keeping the videos up for archive/reference purposes. I know from experience that they will be helpful to other people in seeking to look more deeply into biblical issues. They also serve as a kind of public religous diary!
