Muyangu: Wagogo Music of Tanzania

I have been working as an ethnomusicologist in East Africa since '98 and have come across some amazing musicians and ensembles over the years. Muyangu is by far the most exciting that I have encountered. After a filming session, I made an audio recording in the home of Director Yona Ngobito (December 2, 2010, Iyumbu Village - just outside Dodoma, Tanzania). A CD of the recording has been made for Muyangu to sell in East Africa. All profits from digital sales will be donated to the ensemble as well. Available on iTunes and CD Baby - search "Muyangu".
