1. When did you start writing?
A: Since I could pick up a pencil and write down words.
2. First drafts: Handwritten, typed, or some combination?
A: I wrote handwritten short stories when I was 6. Now stories for my friends are done in notebooks, everything else I type.
3. Do you keep any kind of notebook or writer's journal, and if so, what kinds of things go into it?
A: I have a JOURNAL if you can call it a Writer's Journal. Aside from that I had a notebook filled with scrips but I haven't added anything new.
4. Do you set any quotas for your work (number of words per day, number of hours per day, etc.)? Why or why not?
A: No. I write when I can hear my character's voices, if not then nothing comes out.
5. Are you most comfortable writing short stories, novels, or something else?
A:Mostly my stories always end up as novels =)
6. What's your favorite kind of story to write?
A: Anything, but I really want to write Science Fiction.
7. Talk about a story of yours that was easy to write and one that was difficult to write, and why.
A: I suppose the easiest story to write was The Night Kingdom, because I was young and it was my first full novel. I took a break from it for like a month and when I came back I finished it in like a week. The hardest was The Band, because there were times I would just become so upset of things that were happening to them that I would have to stop writing. It took a long time to finish it.
8. Which of your characters is closest to your sense of self? In other words, who do you most identify with in your own work to date?
A: Jane, from the Band. Not entirely because we're alike (because we're not) but because she's just one of those characters that pops out and speaks at you like no one else does.
9. What work are you most proud of right now?
A: The Night Kingdom will forever be my first novel and the one I hold dearest, I'll probably re-write it in a couple of years. Make it longer and more complex, but for now I'm pretty happy little-kid-me wrote it.
10. What do you feel your strengths and weaknesses are as a writer?
A: Strengths I'm not sure of, but weaknesses is that I can't seem to make settings speak to the reader. They usually have to represent an emotion, but I'm incredibly horrible at it.
11. Name a few writers who have influenced you or your work in some way.
A: J.K Rowling made me begin writing, Lewis Carrol made me love Fantasy, and Ray Bradbury just made me my love for stories grow more.
12. Talk about something you've written that you later found embarrassing for some reason.
A: Some random romance novels I did to practice writing. I'm not too embarrassed but they could be better.
13. Talk about the earliest stories you remember writing. What were they about?
A: Back when I was little I think the first story I wrote was "El libro the los cuentos" or The Book of Stories. It's mostly just about this girl that gets sucked in a book and lives that reality. Who knew people would still be writing things like that years later?
14. If you knew you would be successful, what would you most like to write?
A: How does been successful give me permission to write anything? I write when I hear their voices, no matter the time.
15. What inspires you?
A: Ray Bradbury.
16. How many projects do you tend to work on at once?
A: Too many sadly. But I've kept myself on check.
17. Who reads your work before it's released to the public? Do you have beta readers, a critique group, etc.?
A: Depends. Romance novels I write to practice writing are on fanfiction (edited by Debbie), The Band was read by my friend Yaziris, everything else I sometimes give to my parents, if not I keep it shut.
18. When you're not writing, what do you do for fun?
A: Read, watch TV (smart TV XD) or play video games. GOOD video games, I might add.
19. Advice to other writers?
A: Don't become the "master" of your characters. Let their stories shine, and don't change them. Listen to what they tell you. And never stop writing.
20. What are you currently working on?
A: The orphan story, that's untitled and Broken
21. Share the first three sentences of a work in progress.
Hehe, sorry I don't release unfinished work of it's important to me.
