MGM's motto "Ars Gratia Artis", translated "Art for art's sake" is losing its meaning in the commercialized film industry of today. But under the studio greats like Louis B. Mayer and Darryl F. Zanuck, the movies flourished with the careful guidance of talented professionals. This era in film history is now known to us as the Golden Age, and they certainly don't make 'em like they used to!
Age: 19
"I'm most grateful to have had that joyous time in motion pictures. It really was a Golden Age of Hollywood. Pictures were talking, they were singing, they were coloring. It was beginning to blossom out: bud and blossom were both present." - Ginger Rogers

"There seemed to be something inside, something different -- things that legends are made of. It's an intangible something that makes it impossible for one to look away. Anyway, whatever it is, no one has ever yet been able to define it, but when we see it, we recognize it, and we are thrilled by it. Sadly for us, so many of those God-gifted artists are now gone..." - Loretta Young (Happy 100th Birthday, Hollywood!)

New to classic films? Need advice on which ones to watch? Or are you a die-hard classics fan who's excited to see a kindred spirit? Well, whichever of these you are, feel free to message me at anytime!

Apart from classic films, I'm also a huge fan of classic radio. Favorite shows are THE BIG SHOW, THE IRENE DUNNE AND FRED MACMURRAY SHOW, and LUX RADIO THEATER. Of course, classic TV is another great interest, favorites being WHAT'S MY LINE?, THE LUCY SHOW, and THE BURNS AND ALLEN SHOW.

Hey, come enjoy my 10 channels, most are filled with wondrous camp videos from the past, others are 60's fashion, classic toy ads, beef cake kitsch, Hollywood desires, or Las Vegas variety. I adore Marlene Dietrich & Joan Crawford, so come join in the fun. Please be friends with your favorite ones. Nice to find you, Robbie.

Hi,

As you might know uploading films on YT is a tricky endeavor; vidoes get regularly removed and that gets accounts suspended. What several of us uploaders are trying to do is to create a channel where movie uploaders such as yourself can write into a list of films that have been known to be removed by copyright owners. Its main purpose is to act as a reference in order to warn uploaders in the future about what films not to upload in order to avoid account suspension. Its also a place where movie uploaders can discuss present and future issues. Would you be interested? If so, please contact me back and I'll send you the account name and password so you can participate. Thanks.
