Artist. Filmmaker. Editor. Animator. Graphic Designer. These are only a handful of the many hats worn by Jakob Printzlau, lead singer, songwriter and videographer of The Fashion. Printzlau, along with long-time band mates guitarist Anders Find Axelsen and bassist Christian Lignell Bækholm, teamed up with drummer Jakob Ankær Johansen in 2002 to form The Fashion: a unique, experimental blend of post-punk and indie-alternative rock flecked with upbeat dance grooves.

Hailing from the underground music scene of Svendborg, Denmark and now calling Copenhagen home, The Fashion have drawn comparisons to fellow countrymen The Raveonettes and Junior Senior, as well as international superstar acts The Hives and Franz Ferdinand. Critics suggest the band evokes memories of revolutionary artists ranging from The Ramones to The Beastie Boys.

After signing the band in 2002, BMG released The Fashion's debut European album, "Rock Rock Kiss Kiss Combo", in 2003, featuring "Lets Go Dancing", and "Roller Disco Inferno". Strong airplay across Danish radio, a P3 Gold nomination, MTV Fresh Pick of the Week, and a staggeringly good review in Rolling Stone led to a 2004 pan-European tour. The band then left the road to concentrate on their song writing.

In the Summer of 2006, The Fashion began working on their new album at Superstar Studios in Vesterbro, Copenhagen with producer Fridolin (Outlandish, Moi Caprice). The title of the resulting album is The Fashion, released in Denmark and continental Europe in 2007 and slated for US release in Summer 2008. The Fashion EP, comprising three lead tracks from the upcoming full-length album, is available now on iTunes and at select indie retailers. Never ceasing to amaze, Printzlau has already directed, animated, and edited two videos for the album, with a third on the way.
