Numbers begins at Mount Sinai, where the Israelites have received their laws and covenant from God and God has taken up residence among them in the sanctuary..... ....The book ends with the new generation of Israelites in the plain of Moab ready for the crossing of the Jordan River.
The book of Joshua demonstrated God's love for his chosen people when they reached the Promised Land..... .....Its 24 chapters tell of the entry of the Israelites into Canaan, their conquest and division of the land under the leadership of Joshua, and of serving God in the land.
THE BOOK OF JUDGES The Book of Judges opens with the Israelites in the land which God has promised to them but worshiping "foreign gods" instead of Yahweh, the god of Israel, and with the Canaanites still present everywhere... ....Israel "does evil in the eyes of Yahweh;" the people are given into the hands of their enemies and cry out to Yahweh; Yahweh raises up a leader; the "spirit of Yahweh" comes upon the leader, the enemy is defeated, and peace is regained.

Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward. Psalm 127:1-3
