Ralph Vaughan Williams - Linden Lea

A beautiful piece of choral music by Ralph Vaughan Williams, inspired by the beauty of nature. The lyrics are a pastoral poem by William Barnes, in...

I don't think you seem to have any understanding of Vaughan Williams' Work whatsoever. It is pratically all based on or inspired by folk music! There are so many folk features to be found here, pentatonicism, simple melody and harmony, a subject matter of rural landscape. By saying it isn't a fol...

You know what, I have lots of American friends. Most Americans are funny and considerate people. But you are the reason that people hate America!

In the "Americans are not stupid" video, middle aged mature adults were mostly asked and responded ridiculously to the questions. In this video you have mainly harrassed old pensioners and young children. The question at the end is sometimes used as a brain teaser to catch people out and so the f...

Northern Ireland: Giant's Causeway Dunluce Castle

A weekend in Nothern Ireland. Absolutely perfect weather and great memories. More to come on our trip to Belfast and Newgrange.

The Giants Causeway is the most beautiful place in Britain without a doubt. Anyone who says otherwise simply can't recognise beauty. You should see it at sunset!

Beautiful, such a shame that Butterworth died so young, the amazing potential that he had can be heard very clearly in this piece.

Alright, I was wrong, my brother certainly could not perform this piece. I suppose we all have different tastes in music and what could be beautiful to me could be horrible to someone else and vice versa. So I've decided never to criticise something that I don't know much about again.

John Williams - Theme from Schindler's List

violon solo : Itzhak Perlman

John Williams is a master of scoring films. And I must say that to me this is the most poignant of all his pieces, a true depiction of the horrors commited at the hands of the Nazi's.

Also, excellent work from Itzhak Perlman who's virtuoso performance came off splendidly in the film which was a m...

Holst- Jupiter, the Bringer of Jollity- The Planets Suite

English composer Gustav Holst composed The Planets between 1914 and 1916. The Birmingham premiere of the suite took place in 1918, fifteen years be...

Holst has captured Jupiter very well in this piece. Ofcourse, Jupiter is the largest of the planets and this is recognised in this piece as it is more flamboyant and grand compared to the other pieces from the planets suite.

Child Genius (Channel 4 Promo)

Promo for the new long-running Channel 4 series 'Child Genius'. Pretty self explanatory really!

"It's a great ambassador for chestnuts," the child at the start said. I think that was exceptionally funny, I really enjoyed the program and the fact that they all showed off a bit didn't bother me at all. Michael was so posh, it was just funny, but that kid Dante was annoying I have to admit, it...

Minnetonka Orchestra Fantasia on Thomas Tallis (pt 1)

Minnetonka High School Orchestra performing Vaughan Williams' "Fantasia on a Theme by Thomas Tallis," March 20, 2008. Sarah Finn-Sommerfeld, conductor

Fantasia on a theme by Thomas Tallis is beautiful, but it is NOT for a school orchestra. This is very good for a school orchestra, don't get me wrong, but these students obviously lack the maturity needed to pull of a believable performance of the best British work of all time.

A nice try but too...
