This footage appears elsewhere on youtube but this is a good quality copy. It shows "Django Reinhardt et son Orchestra" at Bal Tabarin in 1944.
Django appears just after the sequence showing Marlene Dietrich at 1.50. The speed of his fingers and his vibrato are amazing. At the start of the clip, Gerard Leveque and Joseph Reinhardt can be seen in the background on stage.
The background music does not appear on record anywhere and was almost certainly recorded at the gig. The tunes are "Night & Day", "Shorty George" and the opening sequence to "I Can't Give You Anything But Love".
The voice that can be heard on a couple of occasions sounds very much like Charles Delaunay.

Stephane Grappelli and Jeff Green soloing on Django Reinhardt's "Minor Swing" at Grappelli's 80th birthday concert. The objective was apparently to re-create the sound of the Quintette du Hot Club de France. Unfortunately, Jeff Green's guitar is poorly miked.
Jeff Green appears to be trying to look like Django Reinhardt here as well as play like him.
The other musicians are Martin Taylor, Marc Fosset and Jack Sewing.

Les Paul talks about Django Reinhardt and shows a Selmer guitar that he says was given to him by Django. This is possibly the guitar that Charles Delaunay took to America for Django in 1946 but was damaged in transit.
Les Paul helped Naguine and Babik Reinhardt when they were virtually pennyless after Django died. It has been claimed that this Selmer was given to Les by Naguine after Django died but if he (Django) really did own this model, it does not show any signs of having been played. Selmer No. 503 was the guitar Django used during the last few years of his life and that is in a museum in France.

This is not a rare film sequence but it is the actual unretouched/dubbed version that appeared in a French newsreel in May,1946. It shows Django playing at the "El Rodeo Club" with Michel de Villers on clarinet, Eugène Vées guitar and André Jourdan drums.
The significant feature of this film is that it proves Django played an electric guitar BEFORE he went to America. It is almost certain Django did not own this guitar and it probably belonged to Vées.
Django's over-dubbed playing does not appear on any issued record and was almost certainly recorded at the "El Rodeo Club" gig.
