A fan made live action movie set to be released on the internet. The movie shall most likely be one hour and thirty minutes long, minimum. This is a no-budget film.
I respect the Director of the film, treat him with respect as if he were to you in your comments please, it will be filtered. He has worked hard on this film and deserves the hard earned credit.
-NOTE: MOVIE WILL INCLUDE ROCKMAN MUSIC AS QUOTED FROM THE DIRECTOR "Lebron: It's interesting, because I was going to go on a long search for a composer. I worked with this composer a year ago on another feature, and he found out I was doing the Mega Man film and he was like 'I'll do it for free. Let me do everything!' and started sending me all of these Mega Man-inspired themes.
We were on the same page: we want the theme from Mega Man, the opening theme from Mega Man 2, Dr. Wily's theme -- all the musical cues I love from the game will be in the film. I feel that one of the biggest aspects of a Mega Man film to get right is the music."
Q:How will this be released?:
"The film will first be premiered in New York, screening for all those involved. And then, a week or two later, it will come online. Fan film festivals, conventions, doing Q&As like this, talking more in-depth about it... I assume people will have more questions after watching the whole film."
-Update:
"The film will be posted online for free viewing, first exclusively on Ningin, followed quickly by www.megamanfilm.com, and after some time has passed, the film will be hosted by various means on various sites."
Q:About the money/budget: "Lebron: Um, w-what funding? [laughter] All of the money was pretty much out of my pocket, out of my family's pocket..."
Q.Will you put the movie on dvd so we can buy it?
"There will be an option on the site in which you can request a DVD copy of the film and we send it over! The only thing you would pay for is for the disc itself (IE. the dvd we will burn the film to), shipping, and the packaging. I wont be charging anymore since I dont want to make a profit."
Q:Attempting to get this licensed?
"Lebron: I was contacted by a representative of Capcom. They're totally cool with the film; they think what we're doing is great. My biggest dream is that this film is completed and someone in the right place sees it and gives me a budget so that I can do... the bigger the budget, the more you can do... I could do something very grand for half a million..."
Q:Why are the Robots Asians?[laughter]:
"Lebron: I'm a huge fan of Japanese culture. With the way that I saw the game, and with the way it's respected in Japan, I felt that if the film was to be made in Japan... If the face of the film was going to be Mega Man, he's got to be Asian to get the vibe of how much Asian culture means to me.... "
Q:Sequel?
"....The only way I would to a Mega Man 2 is if this was successful, and large videogame sites get behind it and help promote or even stream it. Secondly, a budget. This one cost about $4,000. I would need at least $15,000 to do it right. The third thing is that I want to shoot on film or HD. Something really Hollywood quality. I need to up the ante." Also, he would rather do a Megaman X instead of 2, but it would take to much time and be very hard, it would be set somewhat like a borderline future war.
Additionally, an one time only special presentation of an extended sneak preview from the film will be screened this coming January at MagFest 2009, a yearly computer and video gaming festival. Cast and crew will be in attendance so they hope to meet more fans interested in the film! More info can be seen at the following link:
