July, 2008 - Appealing for help for his wife Cathy, who is surviving ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease) with Cannabis (marijuana), Bob Jordan exhorts everyone, from celebrities to lawyers, to stand up and fight for patients who need God's healing herb. This month the U.S. House of Representatives will vote on the Hinchey-Rohrabacher Amendment to the Justice Dept's Appropiations bill. A YES vote would prohibit the DEA and federal government from interfering with patients and dispensaries in states where medical marijuana has been legalized. Please call your representative today! "Stand Up & Tell the Truth!" Feb.22.2008 - Surviving ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis or Lou Gehrig's Disease), with medical Cannabis for over 20 years and publicly fighting for everyone's right to have the God-given medicine for 11 years, Cathy Jordan and her husband Bob have succeeded in many ways, living life to its' fullest. But an incident in nearby Tampa shocked them back to the reality that too many seriously ill people face. A paraplegic man in police custody was dumped from his wheelchair onto the floor. This scene was seen around the world, but hit home especially to the Jordans, as this is what they've always feared. With ALS, Cathy can't even raise her arms up and, if she is in shock from fear, cold and mishandling, she could choke to death without someone with intimate knowledge of her condition being present. The Jordans feel, as do so many now, that the time to end this fear is now. We all must repeatedly contact our representatives in government - especially the U. S. House of Representatives, which will vote on legislation this summer stipulating that the federal government leave medical marijuana patients alone and let the states decide matters of health and welfare for their citizens. March, 2000 (14 years with ALS)- Continuing the tradition of the OH & WI Journeys for Justice, the Florida Cannabis Action Network and Cathy Jordan as lead patient, set out in wheelchairs and on foot to see Gov. Jeb Bush in Tallahassee. It will be an ordeal of six days along the side of back roads, in sun and rain, to dramatize the plight of medical marijuana patients like Cathy, who has ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral sclerosis) or Lou Gehrig's Disease. Cathy and her husband Bob share the ironic tale of struggle with their own government for the freedom to prolong Cathy's life and to make the truth known. September, 2004 (18 years with ALS)- Cathy Jordan recalls the defining moment when she became an advocate for medical marijuana - In the 1990's, a doctor overseeing a new drug trial for Lou Gehrig's Disease told Cathy she would never get the cure because of her Cannabis use. Then we join Cathy in 1999, at one of her first press conferences, in Tallahassee, during the Govenor's Drug Policy Summit. Toni Lemman, of the Coalition Advocating Medical Marijuana, also speaks of the plight of Florida's medical marijuana patients. Visit Cathy at: http://www.alsandcannabis.com

We flash foward to 2006 to learn from Robert Melamede, PhD, Biology Professor at the Unive
We flash foward to 2006 to learn from Robert Melamede, PhD, Biology Professor at the University of Colorado, exactly what marijuana does for ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease) and other degenerative nerve diseases, like Multiple Sclerosis, Alzheimer's and Parkinson's. Dr. Melamede describes the unique role of the body's own Endo-Cannabinoid system as a "homeostatic regulator" keeping numerous body systems in balance - including the immune, digestive, reproductive, cardio-vascular and neuromuscular systems. Dr. Melamede sees the plant-based Cannabinoids in marijuana as a suppliment - to help the Endo-Cannabinoid system achive balance during biological,bio-chemical or other stresses, "The use of Cannabis has a profound effect in helping to stop nerve degeneration and helping to restore functional nerves". He also recommends Hemp Oil, rich in Omega 3 & 6 EFAs (Essential Fatty Acids), to give the body the tools it needs to achive health. Then, back to May of 2000 (14 years with ALS), at home in Parrish, Florida, Cathy Jordan demonstrates how Cannabis helps her to have a great quality of life, while she and her family enjoy her heated pool. Cathy and Bob Jordan look back to very painful times, beginning in 1986, when Cathy was diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (Lou Gehrig's Disease)at age 36. ALS is a devastating terminal illness and doctors told her she only had 3 to 5 years to live. Then in 1989, visiting a friend in Florida, Cathy first realized that marijuana could help her - she stopped taking pharmaceutical drugs and started living. In 2006, 20 years with ALS, Cathy and her friend Liz revisit the beach in Bradenton where she smoked that first joint and felt her disease stopping. Visit http://www.alsandcannabis.com

After riding with husband Bob on their Harley Davidson, Cathy Jordan reads "Cat's Tail" - her poem about having ALS, staying alive and fighting for the right to use God's natural medicine. Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), known as "Lou Gehrig's Disease", is horrible and terminal - most live only three to five years. Yet Cathy Jordan, who lives near Tampa, Florida, has now (Nov,07) lived twenty-one years since diagnosis and has a good quality of life. Cathy attributes this miracle to medical marijuana (Cannabis), which she has used since 1989 and dramatically slowed the progression of the ALS. This documentary, released in chapters, will follow Cathy and her family through their journey of fear, hope, activism, compassion and healing - for Cathy and our nation.
