In the end the Party would announce that two and two made five, and you would have to believe it. It was inevitable that they should make that claim sooner or later: the logic of their position demanded it. Not merely the validity of experience, but the very existence of external reality, was tacitly denied by their philosophy. The heresy of heresies was common sense. And what was terrifying was not that they would kill you for thinking otherwise, but that they might be right. For, after all, how do we know that two and two make four? Or that the force of gravity works? Or that the past is unchangeable? If both the past and the external world exist only in the mind, and if the mind itself is controllable—what then?

I am pro China (-: I like China and the Chinese people and Chinese culture. What I don't like is Communism as my family, my friends and even i myself have suffered under it - and Communism isn't Chinese at all. As for homosexuality - i don't engage in extra-martial sex, but if others do that - i don't look down on them either - even if i am sometimes puzzled by others actions (-: As for what you said about Falun Gong - I don't think that's true - and if you wanna know what Falun Gong is really about i will tell you. Otherwise if that's what you wanna think than so be it.
	dodowoo2002 (3 weeks ago) i agree china does have human rights problems and the government to some extent oppresses its citizens thoughts and behaviors at times. however, i dont think creating another lie to attack the existing lie is an appropriate method to promote freedom. your religion believes truthfulness, compassion, and forbearance. i hope you understand that clearly. again, if any of my words is disrespectful, i apologize.
	dodowoo2002 (3 weeks ago) i don't like fa lun gong and i think it is such a controversial religion because li hongzhi, the founder of fa lun gong, released so many illogical ideologies regarding human, nature and the universe. he said the earth has been destroyed nine times, the universe has exploded before, and he is the redemptor to save the world from the upcoming catastrophe. im sorry, i just cant accept that.

But you see - the party does a little trick: what they claim is so extremely exaggerated that no one in their right mind would ever believe it - and they know that very well. So people start thinking "well maybe only a little of what the party says is true". That's exactly what they want you to think - cause the reality is that what the party claims is exactly opposite to the truth.
	owelic (1 month ago) no all governments suck in my opinion, i only beleave what ive seen and what my wifes family have seen, they lived a block away from tianamen square... 80 to 90% of this is propaganda.
