I love Redd's playing, but this clip shows his kriptonite...solo acoustic guitar. He needs a band to let him truly shine...that's okay, its cool...it's just good to know that he is not omnipotent...

johnny did not make a great song bad, he reflected the fact that we don't see the world as it is, we see it as we are. What a great artist.

I think Bill Frisell has probably taken notes on guitar arrangements from Beck. Love Beck no one should dis him...he is a trend setter and an original. will always be one of the best in history...if jimi, roy, rory, or danny were still here they would testify. I think that is witness enough.

Saw Beck's show in Winnipeg a while back. Sitting in front of me were people with Rory Gallagher tshirts...I asked them if they were at Rory's show 30 yrs prior, they said "yes" people who know guitar come together like schooling fish...Beck is the remaining great.

one interesting note is that these "greatest" or "best" lists are generational in their bias. the best guitarist of his generation might be an apt category...but then the research would be biased based on the media coverage of the individual. was django really the best or were their other gypsy p...

This is a wonderful time capsule track. It gives one goosebumps.
