The Starfish Country Home School is a free bilingual (English and Thai) anubaan (kindergarten) and elementary school.
The school endeavors to use a child-centered approach, which is facilitated by having only nine students in its largest class (P1). There are usually two teachers or a teacher and a teacher assistant in each classroom at all times. We use some innovative teaching methods and promote healthy personal and emotional development in our students through cultural studies, travel and activities in the arts and sports.
The Starfish Country Home School Foundation, which is the sponsor of the Starfish Country Home School, also supports several external programs including Starfish Homes in Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai, scholarships for needy students, construction of school dormitories, education at the Chiang Mai Womens Prison and grants to several organizations in Thailand, Cambodia and Laos that are involved in education and medical assistance.
