Stage 3-1 is a Sudbury based Nintendo-Metal band, spawned from the teenage bedrooms of Weston Sagle and Kevin Beswick. Fueled by raging adolescent hormones and raw anger, the definitive Stage 3-1 sound emerged after 2 years of encouraging success on the reknown Newgrounds website.

Stage 3-1, akin to the Ricoh 2A03, was developed to play Nintendo music. In addition to their NES console video game music covers, Stage 3-1's repertoire of Nintendo-inspired originals includes favourites such as 8-bit Battle, J-UP Castle, and the self-titled Stage 3-1. Stage 3-1 has appealed to the nostalgic generation of the 1980s, as well as to the general public with their updated versions of timeless fan favourites such as The Legend of Zelda, Super Mario Brothers, and Castlevania.

Originally founded as a studio project, the overwhelming demand for a live Nintendo-Metal band led to the assembly of a five piece to satiate the publics voracious appetite. Like a good gaming console has accessories, Stage 3-1's music needed performing band members. Joining original members Weston Sagle and Kevin Beswick was Steven Sagle, a video game enthusiast and NES connoisseur. To achieve the full NES metal sound, Brian Mikkila and Julian Ursano were incorporated to round out the live band.

Upon Julian Ursano's unfortunate departure to attend school studying music, Mitch McCann appeared and joined, unbeknownst to the majority of the band. To this day, the remaining members of the band are unsure of how he became the second guitarist. Recently, keyboardist Brian Mikkila has disappeared. Unconcerned, the rest of the band forges on, ignoring the disturbing sudden absence of a former member. R.O.B. has been added to their live shows for the personality factor. Weston has recently purchased a Microkorg girlfriend for R.O.B to replace the large perturbing void that Brian has left.

The full-length album LEVEL UP!, featuring reinvented old favourites and originals, will be released sometime in late 2008. The album is currently in progress.
