This is the first part of my Audition for the Youtube Symphony. I will be playing the part of Percussion I, which is Snare Drum and Brake Drums. Note: I didn't pick out brake drums specifically as pitched, so I'm hoping this works alright. FInding a G, C, and E would've proved quite a difficult task, and I decided to use what I had available.

The audition I'll be sending to Colburn School. I wanted to stick the individual pieces up, but I'm too lazy to learn how iMovie really works. I've had enough trouble as is and have enough ahead of me trying to make it export to iDVD in the next hour.

If you're a musician, you know that being under the mic or camera REALLY sucks, and it's a major like... esteem downer... or something. Anyway, I think it's good for what it is. I'll type more about it later.

Barenboim conducting the Chicago Symphony Orchestra in a stellar performance of Tchaikovsky's 4th Symphony in F minor for the opening concert of Carnegie Hall's 1997 season. Barenboim's "non-conducting," almost DARING the orchestra not to stay together, is an example of his mastery. Please don't waste space commenting on his "non-classic" technique--only complete plebians and marching band students need a human metronome with an invariant beat pattern. Barenboim's a genius, plain and simple.
