During July and August, Smirnoff invited people from Canada, Japan, Poland, South Africa, Thailand, UK and USA to send in a video about themselves and original nightlife where they live. On offer was the chance to be part of an international group of travellers who would spend a year traveling the world, searching out the most original and unique nightlife. This was no free holiday either: the group would create short films, photo stories, diaries and blogs while they're on the go. Eighteen shortlisted people were flown to England to take part in a gruelling, week-long selection process. After a series of individual and group tasks, the first eight members of The Smirnoff Ten were selected. The final two members of the team will be selected in Latin America in the coming weeks.
