Darnita also known as "SINGNSISTA" is no stranger to the gospel music industry. She has been on the scene nearly two decades touring the Unites States and abroad while captivating audiences with her tremendous gift. She is a native of Philadelphia, PA, and currently resides in Richmond, VA with her devoted husband and their loving children. Darnita has a beautifully toned lyric soprano voice encompassing a 5 octave range. Her vocal instrument is a triple "A" threat Anointed, Angelic and Accomplished. She has been compared to such gospel legends as Tramaine Hawkins, Sandi Patti, Karen Clark-Sheard and Sarah Jordan Powell. However, make no mistake Darnita has a unique style of her own and is best known for her impeccable execution of gospel traditional hymns and contemporary inspirational ballads. She is a veteran musical evangelist who is able to connect with any audience uplifting Jesus Christ while encouraging the believer and bringing the message of hope and salvation to the unbeliever. She has been a featured artist on many live recordings including the Savettes live recording leading "He's My Comfort"; Shawn Stovall and the Voices of Praise, live recording leading the title cut, "He Brought Me Out" and Minister Alex Ingram's CD release "His Mercy" leading "You'll Never be the Same Again". She has opened for Gospel Icons Fred Hammond at the Landmark Theatre in Richmond, VA, Donnie McClurkin at Mt. Airy Church of God in Christ, Philadelphia, PA and Richard Smallwood and Vision at Deliverance Evangelist Church, in Philadelphia, PA. Darnita is a much sought after background vocalist as well and has supported world renowned gospel & secular artists including Shirley Caesar, Bishop Walter Hawkins, Tramaine Hawkins, Dottie Peoples, Richard Smallwood, Kurt Carr, Donnie McClurkin, Patti Labelle, Melba Moore, James Moore, Douglas Miller, Bruce Parham, Gaye Arbuckle, Pastor Yvette Flunder, Pastor Timothy Wright, Tunesha Crispell and many others. Additionally, she has toured extensively as backup vocalist for a notable amount of theatrical productions including "Gospel at Colonus," featuring Morgan Freeman and Carl Lumbly; "Don't Get God Started", featuring actors Glenn Turman, Chip Fields and artists Vanessa Bell Armstrong and BeBe Winans; "The Amen Corner", featuring Antonio Fargas; "God's Trombones", featuring Theresa Meridith, Ossie Davis, Al Freeman, Jr. and Tramaine Hawkins; "Momma Don't", featuring the Clark Sisters; "Wicked Ways", and "Praise House." In 2006 and 2007, Darnita was a featured artist with the Rev. Johnny Thompson and the Johnny Thompson Singers touring Italy, Germany, Switzerland, and Austria. In 2007, she was featured in a minor role, as an "Evacuee" and performed as the voice over for the "screaming lady monster" character (during the lab scene) in the movie "I am Legend" starring Will Smith. Darnita is preparing to release her Debut CD recorded live at the Mt. Airy Church of God In Christ, Philadelphia, PA and is scheduled for an up coming tour in Europe.
