I want to empower people by information and use the capabilities of YouTube to bring people together.
About Me:

I feel very strongly that lobbying, especially on the EU level, dominates politics and therefore almost every aspect of socio-economic life today. Moreover, I find it increasingly curious how many people (some intellectuals, people from NGOs, etc.) simply seem to ask for direct access themselves instead of asking how to improve this anti-democratic situation with all its consequences for society and planet.

In my professional life, I work as a video producer within a middle sized, international company. My political background is all in my unpaid free time. For some five years, I have been active within Attac, an altermondalist movement. During 2007 and 2008, my focus was on working against the Lisbon Treaty, first in my own country, Austria, where I wrote and spoke about it, and debated it with promoters of the treaty, including Austrian members of parliament. In 2008, I went to Ireland for two weeks to support the NO Campaign of the Campaign Against the EU Constitution (which is a coalition of individuals and groups against the treaty). Besides the treaty and it's numerous aspects, I was also active on other subjects, such as tax avoidance (I was invited to debate the subject after the Zumwinkel whistleblower scandal in Germany with Sahra Wagenknecht of DIE LINKE and Wolf Klinz of the FDP in a small TV studio in the European Parliament), financial markets (I written about and discussed the financial crisis on a couple of occasions this year), migration, or public services.

I loved your video on Lisbon. You are 100% correct. I hope we vote no again.

i have never been ashamed to call myself irish until we voted no. the sight of lyontt in the eu with the bnp made me sick and embarrassed to be irish!

I'm voting NO! The simple reason being that other citizens in the EU do not have the right to vote as we Irish enjoy. There are no words to describe how terribly wrong that is. And the EU claims "RIGHTS FOR ALL"
I pointed this fact out to a person who called to my home asking for a yes vote.
He said: "That's what we are working towards"
I asked: "Do you think I'm crazy or stupid? I asked if he thought it was right that I decide what was good for another person?
He said: "No."
So I said: "But you think it is right that we here in Ireland hand over all decision making to someone else and let them let us and the rest of the EU what is good for us?"
He had no come back.
I think those who are going to vote yes really need to take that into consideration.

Thank God I'm Irish at least we get to vote on every treaty that is put forward here in Ireland due to our constitution.

on a primetime programme last night, the pro treay people were telling ireland that, we have very little power in the eu but lots of influence. and if we vote 'no' we will loose that influence. basically we're being told we'll be at the bottome of the food chain if we vote no. but france and holland alrady voted no to an eu constitution and they seem ok! we need ordinary continental europeans to come to ireland and tell ordianry irish people the real story!

the simple fact that none of the other european democracies are even given a choice to vote YES or NO would make me vote no anyway.
but as well as that, we're voting away our own rights! i can't understand how we even got to this.

hey man excelent video. normally i don't take an extreme side when it comes to politics. i like to have an open mind. and i love the european union and i'm so proud of ireland. but this lisbon treaty, it's the biggest mistake in the history of democracy.
27 'democratic' member states, and Irelnd is the only country that gets to vote.

Hello - thanks for posting that video.
I am actively campaigning for a no vote in Ireland.
We think we can get a no vote but we need help.
The future of ½ billion people in the EU rests in the Irish peoples hands. That's a lot of pressure on a small country. Pleasae consider you and your friends coming to Ireland to help us out.
Could you give me the website addresses of European anti Lisbon groups?
We can defeat this but we need help. Thank you.
