The Seattle Washington Temple (formerly the Seattle Temple) is the 21st constructed and 19th operating temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Located in the city of Bellevue, Washington it has a modern single-spire design. Due to its proximity to the Bellevue Airfield, the proposed height of the spire was reduced, and a red strobe warning light was installed at the base of the angel Moroni statue. In 1983 the Bellevue Airfield closed, and the light was shut off.

The LDS temple in Bellevue, Washington was announced on November 15, 1975, and dedicated on November 17, 1980 by Spencer W. Kimball. The temple was built on 23.5 acres, has 4 ordinance rooms and 12 sealing rooms, and has a total floor area of 110,000 square feet.

The Laie Hawaii Temple is a temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church) located on the northeast shore of the Hawaiian island of Oʻahu. The temple sits on a small hill a half-mile from the Pacific Ocean in the town of Lāʻie, 35 miles (56 km) from Honolulu. Along with Brigham Young University Hawaii and the Polynesian Cultural Center, the Laie Hawaii Temple plays an important role in the town of Lā'ie, with the temple Visitors' Center attracting more than 100,000 people annually.

Laie Hawaii Temple was the first LDS Church temple built outside of the continental United States. The temple is also the oldest to operate outside of Utah, and the fifth-oldest LDS temple still in operation. The site of the temple was dedicated by Church President Joseph F. Smith on June 1, 1915, and the completed structure was dedicated by Church President Heber J. Grant on November 27, 1919. Laie Hawaii Temple was formerly known as the Hawaiian Temple or the Hawaii Temple until a standard naming convention for LDS temples was adopted in the early 2000s.

I myself am unapologetic about my support of Governor Palin. Her enthusiasm, zeal, optimism and outreach to children of special needs really sealed the deal for me in the 2008 Presidential Election because I have a sister with special needs.

Sarah Louise Palin is the Governor of the American state of Alaska. Palin was a member of the Wasilla, Alaska, city council from 1992 to 1996 and the city's mayor from 1996 to 2002. After an unsuccessful campaign for Lieutenant Governor of Alaska in 2002, she chaired the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission from 2003 to 2004. She was elected Governor of Alaska in November 2006. Palin is the first female governor of Alaska and the youngest person elected governor of that state.

Palin was the Republican Party's vice-presidential nominee for the 2008 United States presidential election, on the ticket with Senator John McCain. Palin was the second female candidate and the first Alaskan candidate of either major party on a national ticket, as well as the first female vice-presidential nominee of the Republican Party. Since McCain's defeat in the 2008 election, there has been speculation that Palin will run for president in the 2012 presidential election.

Governor Sarah Palin discusses women in American politics and history while in Henderson, Nevada a couple of weeks before the election.

It was a beautiful and thoughtful speech, but it was ignored by a dangerous biased media more interested in clothing than in substantive discussions of women in leadership or the international struggle for women's rights.
