Thanks for your tutorial videos. My son just got his first drumset, God help me he's 7. I'm a musician/music teacher, worked with drummers all my life and I teach young band students on concert percussion, but I know NOTHING about sets. I appreciate your references to actual notation and use of a traditional counting system--helps me learn and teach my son. I totally cannot relate to most of the other vids made by functional but obviously ear-trained-only drummers.

Can you recommend a metronome for a beginner? i just have a basic drum set, and play for church, but i'm starting to do more fills, and see the need for a metronome keep me on beat when i come back from "outer space"!

really thanks for posting these vids...i've leart many things though i dont even have a drumsets...I have just drumsticks,i use chairs,boxes,books anything i can find to practise

really enjoy your videos!!! I'm a begginer and your videos have helped me a lot. I was getting stuck using the same fill over and over again and now I have lerned a few new ones thanks to you! I got to work more on the triples. Those I have not been able to play as fills but it's just a matter of more practice!!! I started playing at church and one of these days I'll post a video showing one of the fills I learned here. Great Job!!! Thanks!!!! Rodrigo. |
