Lego Mindstorms NXT Pyramid SciGuy16 - 144 views - 3 weeks ago
This is a Lego Mindstorms Pyramid which can be controlled via BlueTooth or USB. As far as I can tell, this is the first Lego pyramid on the Internet to be Mindstorms controlled, if I am wrong, do not hesitate to correct me.

Sorry about the inferior image quality I have posted some photographs on Brickshelf.

Dual Oscillator Detecting Changes In Capacitance Of Antenna, Like A Theremin SciGuy16 - 49 views - 2 months ago
This is a circuit comprising of two oscillators. One's frequency is adjustable by means of a preset pot, the other changes due to changes in the capacitance of the antenna, caused by, in this case, a hand. The two oscillators beat against each other when mixed, and this is amplified by my guitar amplifier, connected to the red and green crocodile leads.

Yes, I know prototyping boards are not ideal for this application, but are the best option at present.

Demonstration Of 4028 BCD/Decimal Decoder SciGuy16 - 44 views - 2 months ago
This is a CMOS 4029 Bin/Dec Up/Down Counter connected to a CMOS 4028 BCD/Dec Decoder, to demonstrate the principles of operation and to show its advantages over the 4017 Decade Counter. The 4017 can only count up, which is fine for the majority of applications, but when a system needs the ability to count in both directions, this is advantageous. Since the video is quite dark, it's not easy to see me press a tactile switch on the bottom right of the board. This is connected to the U/D input of the 4029, with appropriate bias resistor, to show the ability of the system to count in both directions.
The clock comes from a 555 Timer, in astable mode.

Lego Robotic Elevator LegoFan970 - 24,836 views - 2 years ago
This is a robotic elevator that I designed and built out of lego. I believe that it may be the first of its kind to use racks to go up and down.

Sonar Mappr thevideon... - 384 views - 5 months ago
I finally found time to take out my LEGO Mindstorms NXT and build my very first complete robot. Sonar Mappr makes a 180-degree distance profile - a plot of distance as a function of angle - on the NXT's LCD display, as an ultrasonic sensor mounted on a motorised turret rotates.
