I know this is 4 months after your question about who originally sang, "If These Walls Could Speak", but in case you didn't get an answer: the original singer of this song, or at least the writer, is Jimmy Webb. Many people have done covers of it: Glen Campbell, Nanci Griffith, Shawn Colvin, Amy Grant. Webb finally recorded an excellent version of it on his CD, "Ten Easy Pieces".
