I'm an eclectic and almost exclusively self-taught drummer. Actually, I think we're all our own teachers really and that drum masters and drummers of similar calibre help to facilitate the expression of what we already have within us: Rhythm. I've taken some group lessons and some private lessons in Middle Eastern, Guinean, and (most recently) Cameroonian drumming, which really moves me. Otherwise and predominantly I practice alone, or I play at festivals, local drum circles and rituals, and let the spirit of rhythm take it from there. Oh, and I make drums too:)...enjoy...
