Sem zaveden Slovenec. Ponosen sem na vse dobre dosežke v naši slavni zgodovini, zlasti vojaške - Karantanija, boj proti Turkom, Celjski grofje, naši vojaki v avstro-ogrski armadi med prvo svetovno vojno, boj za severno mejo, TIGR, partizanski boj (brez komunistične ideologije), protikomunistični boj med drugo svetovno vojno in nazadnje še naša osamosvojitev skupaj z desetdnevno vojno leta 1991.

Najbolj pa me navdaja s ponosom to, da smo se kljub majhnemu številu uspeli obdržati na tako lepem in strateško pomembnem koščku zemlje 1500 let, čeprav smo bili od prehoda Karantanije pod bavarsko in s tem frankovsko kraljestvo do leta 1991 neprenehoma pod oblastjo veliko večjih narodov, ki so nas pogostokrat zatirali, včasih pa celo skušali izbrisati ali asimilirati - Nemci, Italijani, Madžari, Turki, Srbi. Očitno smo res zajebani ;)



I am a proud Slovene. I am proud of all good achievements in our glorious history, especially the military ones - Carantania, fighting against the Turks, Counts of Celje, our soldiers in the Austro-Hungarian Army during World War 1, fighting for our northern border, TIGR, the partisans (excluding the communist ideology), anticommunist fighting during World War 2 and last but not least our declaration of independence together with the Ten-Day War in 1991.

But what makes me even more proud is the fact that despite our small numbers we have managed to maintain our existence on this beautiful and strategically important piece of land for about 1500 years, even though we were constantly under foreign rule since Carinthia was passed to the Bavarian and thus to the Frankish Kingdom and up until we gained our independence in 1991. Much larger nations often opressed us and sometimes even tried to erase or assimilate us - Germans, Italians, Hungarians, Turks, Serbs. Guess we are one tough nut to crack ;)
