Following a battle lasting for days and ending in the defeat of an elite Iraqi armored division by elements of the American 7th cavalry, Iraqi prisoners were herded into Bradley fighting vehicles, their tanks flaming masses of wreckage behind them.
An Iraqi, soon after stepping into a Bradley, saw a framed picture of German Field Marshal Erwin Rommel attached to the side of his vehicle. He questioned his American Guard: " Why do you carry a picture of your former enemy with you into combat?"
The soldier replied: "Shut up! But know this. If you had carried a picture of him with you, I might be your prisoner."
