Britains Got Talent 11/04/09 - SUSAN BOYLE sings "I DREAMED A DREAM" [ HQ ]
The most stand out audition of the show was that of 47 year old Susan Boyle.
Susan first appeared with Ant and Dec declaring that she is a single woman who lives with her cat. Not only has she never been married but she also admitted that she had never even been kissed.
Susan looked like your typical batty old aunt, gold dress and all and when she walked on to stage you could just feel the scorn of the audience. Simon Cowell didnt look too hopeful when Susan said she wanted to be a professional singer like Elaine Paige and when she said she would be singing I Dreamed a Dream from Les Miserables.
But then Susan sang and the amazement of the crowd was clear. It was the type of audition that makes the hair stand up on the back of your neck and the tears well in your eyes,
it certainly had that effect on Amanda Holden. Piers Morgan called the performance stunning and Simon told Susan she was a little tiger. She seemed a bit baffled by the description.
Britain's Got Talent 2009 kicked off on April 11 and there will be seven audition shows on consecutive Saturdays before a week of nightly shows so fans can pick two finalists who will battle it out on May 30 2009.

Saturday's show (8.20pm - 9.50pm GMT on May 23rd) is more auditions, plus the judges will pick the best 40 acts from all that got though in the auditions to perform in the live shows.
Then there will be Live shows on the following days - information via Radio Times:
SEMI FINAL 1 - Sunday 24th May (8.30pm - 10.00pm GMT)
SEMI FINAL 2 - Monday 25th May (9.00pm - 10.30pm GMT)
SEMI FINAL 3 - Tuesday 26th May (8.30pm - 10.00pm GMT)
Wednesday 27th May (No live show due to Chamions League Final - Manchester United vs Barcelona which is broadcast Live on ITV)
SEMI FINAL 4 - Thursday 28th May (8.30pm - 10.00pm GMT)
SEMI FINAL 5 - Friday 29th May (8.30pm - 10.00pm GMT)
LIVE FINAL - Saturday 30th May (8.45pm - 9.45pm and 10.00pm - 11.00pm GMT)
Two acts from each of the live shows will go through to perform in the Final. The act with the highest number of public votes goes through to the final automatically, with the second and third-placed performers vying for the crucial judges' choice.
