Instead of taking all the cheap made-in-china merchandise back, I suggest a simpler solution, especially in your case -- stop buying them, stop using them. The law of supply and demand -- the one treasured so much by a free market -- tells us that when the demand decreases, supply is bound to decrease as well. If everybody boycotts Chinese products, eventually all the stuff will go away.
Why don't you set yourself as an role model to others by starting boycotting Chinese products and keeping a record of how much money you spend, how you are so much happier with you not-made-in-china possessions, and publish it in a year of time? I am sure you will be hailed as a national hero and become really famous. Go for it!! I wait for the day when you can scorn me and the rest of China publicly on an interview by Larry King.
