You're right about that, he should fight the best lightweights first, like David Díaz or the one he considers the best... Joan Guzman.
To be honest, I fear that maybe Márquez won't be able to handle Valero's power, I mean his last two fights against Casamayor and Díaz he took a lot of punshment, although he ended up knocking out.
Against Manny... I think he'd loose as of today, but I would sure love to see that fight if Valero gets better in future days.
I just knew Valero existed about two months ago, but he said to the world "here I come" and I hope he has something good to give to the world, for the sake of boxing. I hope Manny could fight now the best light welterweights... Mayweather has to be next at some point, I'm impressed how well he can handle that division

OK, I saw the fight and it seems to me like Valero kicked Shimada's ass, but I see what you're trying to get across here... Valero does wait for too long. But, I still think he has the greatest power punch in the whole lightweight division, even more powerful than than Pacquiao (c'mon, he hits real hard, like a god damn beast)
Maybe he needs to be faster, but he ALWAYS goes forward, everyone he fights fears him.
For some reason I really like his fighting style, but he could have a better deffense, I'll give you that.

Man! I think Valero is smoking fast when throwing his powerful shots, he has great stamina and has a decent deffense.
You're right though, he still needs to prove moore, which I think he will. I just have this feeling that he will keep proving his nice record and that he will be a real match for Manny.
Watch his fight against Prescot, I think that'll be a good one.
