About Uberstix:
It began with the idea to design a construction system that was functional, in that when you build something, it should work and in a perfect world, it would be accessible to every kid on the planet. "Green Design" turned out to be the solution. I was researching the toy industry at the same time I was in the beginning phase of designing Uberstix and it turns out that kids in first world countries get (on average) approx. $350.00 per year spent on them for toys where as kids in 3rd world countries are lucky to have $1 - $2. spent on them. When you consider that building toys are a critical component of developing spatial skills, problem solving and visualization as well as building confidence and self esteem, it is unsettling to realize how many kids never have the opportunity to realize and develop some of their potential. So, the answer was to design Uberstix to mate-integrate with everything.
