When in fursuit, in the comunication with other fursuiters, then toutching gets more important then seeing or hearing.
There are some reasons for this.
* Many furrys don't want to talk when in fursuit, most do this to add to the characters mystic or charm, and to deepen the roleplay.
* We can't see much in the suits, so body language, such as gestures, doesn't always work.

I realized in my first meeting and playing at a con with another fursuiter, that body contact became more important.
When walking around at the con, if we walked side by side or infront / behind, our limited eye vision did not allow us to see eachother, so in order to keep track of the other, we reached out and arm and kept body contact as we walked.
It is not a fetish, it is just the easiest way to do things. And I hardly think that practical is an fetish, ne?
