STILL sorting out the mess from my external hard drive failure. Almost have things worked out so I can start modeling again soon. I'm probably as ready as you are to have something new posted here. ;)
Curiously, we've had a similar problem at work. A back up/storage system tanked and salvaging old projects, etc. is looking grim. Was out to a nice dinner with the girlfriend last night and we noticed 2008 Christmas ornaments at one of the book stores. I know I forget stuff, but August to November is a big gap. Well, so's the one between my ears. ;) Hope you all are doing well and hanging in there. I am too. More soon. - TheRapidsNerd |

First, welcome to tj118account, subscriber #37. Definately appreciate that and good to see you.
Fear not good friends, the coaster db is almost back together and a new backup hard drive is on the way. Sorry for the video drought here, but with the limited room on my laptop (50 gig), juggling space to do much of anything is a trick. May mean new computer by years end (cringe). Besides, giving up my LA Ink ITunes episodes would be, just, painful. Hope everyone's doing well and thanks for the patience. - TheRapidsNerd |

Due to the ongoing controversy over onride (PoV) filming at parks, I took down my Roman Rapids PoV. Sucks because it was one of my more popular vids, but it wasn't approved by management at the time.
While I loves me some PoVs, without a park management blessing, it's just a bad idea to film onride stuff. Rules are rules. Don't worry, this won't be a reoccuring soapbox or anything. Just a one time thing. That aside, it's been a good friday. Relaxed workday, excellent wings at lunch, new Leatherman Juice S2 tool, and Bubble Yum Cotten Candy flavored Icee from Target. The only way it could be better is if I was hanging at WDW with my buddy Pat from AWalkinthePark. Otherwise, all is good. Going to see Hellboy 2 tonight. Hope it's a good weekend for all you nice folks too. Cheers! - TheRapidsNerd |

Hope everybody had a good 4th weekend. Mine was good, and, of course, lively. While trying to backup my latest pics and creative work, my external hard drive got corrupted and died. Lost 3/4 of my coaster database. Worst casualties were Opryland and Astroworld. All gone. So guess what I've been doing all weekend? I'll give you a hint, it's not working on a coaster model. Yes friends, I fail.
Once I can get a new backup drive and get the database back together, the latest coaster model will get off the back burner. That hiccup aside, had a good time thursday at the Dinosaur Uproar exhibit at the Huntsville Botanical Gardens. The place was beautiful and the sculptures were well detailed. Got some great pics. - TheRapidsNerd |

Well friends, I'm officially hooked on blogging. Been working on the new blog and the coaster model this weekend. Yup more content and pics. Even scanned some old Busch Gardens Williamsburg pics too.
You know, it's hard work having fun. Lol! Anywho, check out the blog if you haven't already hope everyone is well. Strangers or not, we're all friends here as far as I'm concerned. - TheRapidsNerd |

Hey all, put up a couple more posts tonight over on TheRapidsBlog about last month's trip to the Gaylord Opryland Hotel, etc. Also added my rapids credit list and some of the other picture projects I've worked on lately. There's also a little rambling about Canyon River Rapid's uncertain fate. The addy is under my AIM screenname on the left if you're so reclined.
Checked out a couple local attractions last night and hope to go back and film them in the next couple weeks. Also got a VERY comfortable set of Dansko Swedish type clogs. While they may not be for everyone, I like clogs and man are these comfortable! Wow! A bit behind on the coaster model, but hope to have it finished this weekend. Remember, I'm on NerdTime, so anything goes. ;) Cheers and best to all and have a great weekend! - TheRapidsNerd |

Alright friends and neighbors, I made the jump to blogging. It'll free me up on writing and posting some pics from my adventures, as well as videos here on YouTube. See the channel info box to the left under my AIM screen name for the URL. Yay for TheRapidsBlog!

Welcome to thesurferdudez, subscriber #35. Great to have you along for the ride.
Been a nice relaxing Sunday. Got caught up scanning stuff from a friend's wedding and cleaned up my photo archive. Also realized I need some video editing software and a bigger hard drive, just to further consolodate things. Don't worry, I got a round or two in on the putting green and a bit more done on the next coaster model. Been toying with the idea of starting a blog so I could write more and show a few pics too. Dunno if I really have that much to say on a regular basis and if I want that much more web real estate to keep track of. Eh, we'll see. If it happens, you all will be the first to know. Contemplating. - TheRapidsNerd |

Another busy week, yet not as chaotic as the last couple. Thank goodness!
One of the great things about the Internet, is that you meet all kinds of interesting people. Yes, a two-edge sword, but still a good thing. I've had a good and comical conversation with a Swiss reader over in the Conny Land Cobra video comments lately. It was another reminder of how big the planet is, how much I still haven't seen of it, and how enthusiasm for a topic, easily crosses borders and oceans. I love that! I'm about half way on the next coaster model and hope to have it up by next weekend. Of course, on NerdTime, that's arbitrary. No worries, it's getting there, along with research on other goodies. Have a good rest of the weekend. - TheRapidsNerd |
