I started playing guitar in spring 2004. What's intresting is that before that I hardly even listened to music and certainly didn't understand anything about it. My father had played guitar in the house for all my life but I had never shown any musical skills/intrest so I was never encouraged to pick up an instrument. I was also told many times by various people (including myself) that I was not musical and never would be.

Then something happened around 03-04 and I suddenly started to develop an intrest in music (for some reason it took almost 17 years for my musical side to wake up...). Pretty soon after that I picked up the guitar. Logically I got started playing the same stuff my father had played (teaching myself with a blues tab-book and a few of his pop fingerstyle recordings). The real breakthrough happened in summer 2004 when I discoverd Chet Atkins. Then I knew guitar playing was in my life to stay. After that I found Tommy Emmanuel and my ambitions grew to whole new levels.

I've been teaching myself with stuff found from the internet (tabs, videos...) for nearly 5 years now . I play for fun but I'm very intrested in music and I'm constantly trying to improve my playing and my understanding of music in general. :)
