Write to Liberal MPs today and demand that they replace the Harper government IMMEDIATELY.

January 18, 2008.

I've just sent the following email to the Governor General (info@gg.ca). I hope my fellow Canadians who agree with me will do the same.

Excellency,

In my judgment, the last federal election was unnecessary. It cost Canadians over $300 million. Another election should not be allowed before October 2009 at the earliest.

Granting Mr. Harper the prorogue on December 4 was unconstitutional (see Eugene Forsey).

If Mr. Harper is defeated in the House of Commons before October, your only democratic option is to immediately call on the Coalition to form a government.

If you ignore the will of Parliament and the Canadian people again, I believe you will be morally bound to resign your office.

BOB RAE IS THE MAN CANADA NEEDS NOW.

I've had a belly-full of the Harper dictatorship and Iggy's efforts to scuttle the Coalition.

Every time we sing O Canada, we pledge to "stand on guard for thee";. Well, let's start doing it !

Let's start taking back our democracy now !

Here's the plan: Let's flood the Liberal MPs who supported Ignatieff (see List in my Comments below) with emails saying we'll never vote Liberal again unless they replace Mr. Ignatieff with Mr. Rae IMMEDIATELY.

At the same time, let's flood the Governor General (info@gg.ca) with emails saying that we believe the prorogue was constitutionally indefensible, and that once Mr. Rae is the Liberal leader, we expect her to recall Parliament IMMEDIATELY, allow a vote of non-confidence and, when Mr. Harper loses that vote, to call on the Coalition to form a government. NO MORE UNNECESSARY ELECTIONS !

This will be our Christmas present to Canada - the restoration of democracy in our fair land.

AN OPEN LETTER TO MICHAEL IGNATIEFF

Sir, in my judgment, you are putting your personal ambitions ahead of the interests of the country. At this critical juncture in our history, that is simply unacceptable.

Mr. Harper has betrayed the trust of Canadians and is undermining our democracy. His government must be defeated at the earliest opportunity.

Mr. Rae is prepared to work with the Coalition to bring that about. You clearly are not.

Mr. Harper must be removed from the Office that he has disgraced so shamefully. Granting him another election is unthinkable.

Mr. Rae, Mr. Layton and Mr. Duceppe understand that. Why not you?

We now have a de facto dictator occupying 24 Sussex Drive. That cannot be allowed to continue.

This is no time for equivocating. It is a time for action.

You have been given the Liberal leadership. But in my view, you do not deserve it.

For the good of the country, Mr. Ignatieff, please step aside and allow Mr. Rae and the Coalition to get on with the job of restoring democracy in Canada.

A NEW GOVERNMENT FOR CANADA !

Today, December 1, 2008, with the proposal for a coalition government to replace Mr. Harper, a blow was struck for freedom, decency and Parliamentary democracy in our fair land.

I have had cause to be proud of this country more times than I could ever recall, but I have never been prouder than I am at this moment.

Mr. Dion, Mr. Layton and Mr. Duceppe, I salute you !

How very, very fortunate we are to live in this magnificent country.

What would our veterans, who fought and died for this country, think of turning our democracy over to Stephen Harper and his Conservative party of neo-con thugs, as we are doing now ?

If this man ever gets a majority, God help us all.
