IMO David Bain murdered his family - Steven, Laniet, Arawa, Margaret and Robin - in Dunedin, New Zealand, on July 21st 1994. He served 13 years in prison, then in June 2009 he was acquitted in a retrial after convincing a jury that police incompetence combined with a series of improbable events and rumours made it impossible to rule out that his father Robin had actually committed the murders and then committed suicide. Congratulations, David! Your father would be so proud of what you have achieved. You are the one who deserved to stay! (less info)
