Keith Olbermann regarding Levin and 'waterboarding'...

According to the ABC News report Olbermann cited, Levin did not decide that waterboarding by the U.S. is torture; he just thought we were doing it wrong. "Levin, who refused to comment for this story, concluded waterboarding could be illegal torture unless performed in a highly limited way and with close supervision," wrote ABC News's Jan Crawford Greenburg and Ariane de Vogue (emphasis added). "And, sources told ABC News, he believed the Bush Administration had failed to offer clear guidelines for its use." In other words, the man whom Olbermann believes "should have a statue in his honor in Washington right now" for making a liar of Bush about torture apparently thinks that, in principle, waterboarding is perfectly legal.

Which makes him any different from Dick Cheney how, exactly?

PRESIDENT COLBERT HAS DROPPED OUT OF THE RACE!
Stephen Colbert, who was not allowed on the South Carolina ballot but was included in the GeniusRocket Primary, has dropped out of the presidential race. "Although I lost by the slimmest margin in presidential election history — only 10 votes — I have chosen not to put the country through another agonizing Supreme Court battle," said Colbert. "It is time for this nation to heal."

The team of Good 'N Mad were detained recently for throwing an illegal fireworks bash to celebrate the return (at long last) of Don Imus to the airwaves on December 3, 2007. Also arrested were their fellow musicians and house-band, Blind Rovers (performing, 'Bluebell').

PRESIDENT COLBERT...he may not be on the South Carolina ballot for the Democrats, but don't fear, the folks at user-generated advertising site GeniusRocket have included him in their GeniusRocket Primary. The winners of the primary — it's actually a contest — receive awards for the best 30-second presidential ads, and they've included Colbert among the candidates you can support. It'll be fun to see the entries for the contest — maybe Colbert can run his ads in South Carolina, you know, just for the fun of it.

Associated Press: "We are ecstatic to bring Don Imus back to morning radio," said WABC radio President and General Manager Steve Borneman. "Don's unique brand of humor, knowledge of the issues and ability to attract big-name guests is unparalleled. He is rested, fired up and ready to do great radio."

Imus will return with his longtime newsman, Charles McCord, and other members of his morning team, Citadel said in announcing the move.

2,000,000 STRONG FOR PRESIDENT COLBERT: Reports on the phenomenal growth of Stephen Colbert's Facebook group--asks what it means that he has more supporters than Barack Obama or anyone else on the site. Well, here's something: Rock the Vote's Chris Kennedy writes that more than 4,300 people have registered to vote since the Colbert group creator added a link to Rock the Vote last week. As Kennedy notes, that's about one registration per minute. Does Colbert has some serious intentions behind this candidacy after all, or is this simply the after-effect of gathering so many people in one place? On another note, there's now a "2,000,000 Strong for Stephen Colbert" group. It never stops!
