Fluor Enterprises, Inc. and Newmont Nevada Energy Investment, Ltd. for their Newmont TS Power Plant Project.
In July 2004, Newmont Nevada Energy Investment (NNEI) contracted with Fluor for the engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning of a new 242 MW (gross output) coal fired power plant in a remote area of Nevada.
Through a tireless risk management approach and high-performance teamwork the team executed 3 million work-hours without a lost-time accident. The team also implemented Hispanic workforce initiatives, process hazard reviews and was awarded the prestigious Safe Partner Award by the State of Nevada. Reliable power generation was completed on 16 April 2008, almost 10 weeks ahead of schedule. Full load was achieved only 27 days after First Fire on Coal. This accelerated schedule also assisted in exemplary cost savings results.

Planning and execution of Law Enforcement Services for 2008 Democratic National Convention (DNC), Denver, Colorado, USA, Project managed by Colorado State Patrol (CSP).
The project, which started in May 2007, provided 509 officers during the event—309 more than the original scope called for—while maintaining 120 troopers on the road for traffic safety.
With the eyes of the world on Denver, the project was delivered on time. And the team also stayed well within the US$1.6 million budget stipulated by the Democratic National Convention Committee, which would reimburse the CSP. By doing so, the agency ensured taxpayers werent stuck with the bill in the end.

Terminal 1 Arrivals and departures Concourse Refurbishment at Heathrow Airport, London, U.K. managed by British Airports Authority and Headland Project Management Ltd.
The project was launched in February 2006 and completed in March 2009. The team managed to refurbish the main terminal at Heathrow Airport in London, England—without shutting down access to the 20 million passengers that pass through every year.
The project was delivered 10 weeks ahead of schedule, which translated to US$20 million in savings 3 million work hours without a single lost-time accident.
The final project included BR£6.3 million of new scope and 30 additional weeks worth of work for one particular work area, but it was accomplished within the confines of the original budget and delivered only two days over schedule.
