The national government can sabotage any rational health policies. This is the main reason why RH Bill needs to be legislated. Major failure of the Gloria Arroyo administration when it did not support the national family planning program. Ex-mayor Lito Atienza banned modern family planning in Manila 10 years ago. Barangays issued their own health policies and not in compliance with the local government. We do not need health laws in different versions issued by 138 cities, 17 regions, 79 provinces, 1496 municipalities, and 42025 barangays.
When RH becomes a law, any next elected presidents can improve and govern this program according to the needs of the people.
@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@
Let's get real. The Catholic Church blocked RH Bill for nearly 18 years. Yet they failed to promote family planning. They failed to force the past government to stop corruption and reduce poverty. Abortions sky high! Over 560,000 illegal abortions based on 2008 statistics. Over 2,000,000 unwanted pregnancies every year! 11 mothers die each day due to birth complications. What have they done during the last 17 years?
Instead, the Church force their fight against RH Bill through lies and slanders. Teachings keep changing to suit their fight. Name calling, personal attacks, participated in ousting presidents. Lawmakers are called evil, anti-Christian, fake etc! You name it! Yet they are good in publishing apologies days after. Is this moral and necessary?
It is now 2011. We hope and pray for a change after the presidential elections.
Now that President Noynoy Aquino chose to support the Reproductive Health Bill, why oppose him?
Please read the consolidated RH Bill HB 4244. This bill is not about religion or about God. Stop responding to Church's moral objections. If they want to fight immoralities, let them focus their moral and spiritual guidance on those committing child prostitutions, child abuse, sex shows, bishops dipping their hands into public funds etc.
-------------------------------------
RH Bill will have both natural and modern family planning.
Again, if natural family planning is effective, how come the population exploded from 55 million to 94 million in 14 years?
Why didn't the Catholic Church threaten to excommunicate or penalize the past presidents for causing unbelievable high rates of abortions during their office terms?
Have the Church neglected their moral obligations in educating the people to stop these women from seeking abortions?
Aborted fetuses dumped in front of the Churches and other parts of the cities seem like normal news these days. Archibishops can only sigh and condemn their actions.
If natural family planning failed to stop abortions and unwanted pregnancies, don't you think it's time to give RH Bill a chance?
Perhaps the statistics on high abortions and increase in population will change.
Perhaps the quality of life will improve.
I am a Catholic and a mother. I believe that God is leading us to the right path of freedom and for a brighter future for our children.
I believe that the right president is elected to implement the bill that will effectively change the poverty issues and make all citizens more responsible people.
I believe that the Reproductive Health Bill will be supported by all religions for the sake of all Filipino children.
I believe that today's generation, the youth and the voice of all will help this RH Bill to reality because the future of this country depends on them.
