PC is proud of its athletic success. In recent years, the Friars have had teams ranked among the top 20 nationwide in several sports, including men's basketball, men's and women's ice hockey, field hockey and men's & women's cross country. Some of the most notable accomplishments over the years include a 1995 Women's Cross Country NCAA Championship; two Final Four appearances and an Elite Eight appearance by the men's basketball team; winning two HOCKEY EAST Championships, including a 1996 trophy, and advancing to the NCAA title game in 1985; several NCAA Tournament berths by the women's basketball team; and a number of BIG EAST and ECAC titles by several teams.
