This channel is devoted to species of clownfish Amphiprion Ocellaris.
My experience with this species began six years ago.
I've always used small fish-tanks trying to find out what was needed and what is superfluous to breed them in the simplest way.
I have tested food, filters, filter materials, decoration, lighting, and applied various notions aquarium.
I tried to find a way to reduce the minimum care and maintenance and ensure that anyone with a bit of experience in the aquariums can raise these wonderful fish without having to use expensive equipment and large aquariums as usual we hear those who approach for the first time in the world of marine aquarium.
The secret is to create a perfect ecosystem.
To do this is to have one species in the aquarium without invertebrates.
The water parameters are kept constant by the abundant growth of a type of seaweed.
In the absence of this type of seaweed to get the same values of Nitrate (less than 1mg / l) and Phosphate should change 50% of water each day and maybe not enough .....
With my system you need only remove the excess algae once a week ......
From what I've been able to test, the A. Ocellaris is a very hardy species and its maintenance is relatively easy following of the minimum rules.
Is also easy to see them lay their eggs.
Very difficult and complicated it is to succeed in breeding the fry.
I managed to breed the fry using only appropriate live food (for now, all attempts to use only dry food have failed)
My pair of clowfish started to spawn after 2 ½ years they were together in the fish-tank (may 2008).
After some testing I came to the conclusion that the pair need to feel safe in their habitat and can not tolerate other guests (whethever they are of the same species or not) also any small change to their habitat stops laying for several days.
The pair loves to have well-marked rhythms with respect to the light period, meal times, etc..
Under these conditions, with adequate food, continued for years to lay eggs without stopping 2-3 times a month (a high water temperature increases the deposition rate because the eggs develop faster and hatch before).
