I think that Northern Ireland must be a state - just like in football - fully independent from both England and Irish Republic (the same is valid for Scotland and Wales). Great video of Northern Ireland goals against Sweden in 1980!

YAWN. Scotland and Wales in the UN also? Boy it really must hurt when the Northern Ireland football team fly the flag for OUR WEE COUNTRY all over Europe and beyond. :-)

When Northern Ireland takes its place at the United Nations, then come and tell me it is a country. Until then, it is a gerrymandered statelet temporarily under British rule. There is only one Ireland, from Derry to Kerry it is the same country, no matter who is in charge of it.
