Wow, I've seen some cool wildlife outside my window, but this footage is my favorite. I have seen seals before, but if I am lucky they stick around for a few minutes. This Female Gray Seal came up river as the tide was headed out. She stuck around and caught a few fish over the course of a half-hour!

There is a waterfall just up river from where these scenes were shot. As the water level drops a large amount of rocks emerge and block the fish into this deep pocket in the river between the mills of Factory Island, Saco (where I live) and Biddeford.

Take a look at the Location of the video and the satellite view will explain the Seal's strategy in hunting fish. Also take a look at "catch and release" and you'll see in addition to the Mackerel you see in this video, there are large Striped Bass in this stretch of river. Also Herrings, Alewives, Salmon and Shad.
