In the time of the Prophet (saw), Tasawwuf was a reality without a name, today Tasawwuf is a name, but few know its Reality.
About Me: What do Muslims believe?

Muslims believe in one God, who created all human beings since the beginning of Time.

Allah sent His message to everyone through His Messengers and Islam accepts all of His Prophets including Adam, Moses and Jesus.

Islam teaches that God is The Merciful and Compassionate, The Supreme Ruler and Protector. He is The Creator and The Bestower. He is All-Hearing and All-Seeing. Both The Hidden and the Manifest. The Loving and the Light, The First and.... The Everlasting One.

The role model for Muslims to follow is the example of the Prophet Muhammad (Peace and blessings of Allah be upon him).

His example is one of respect for all human beings and crosses all cultural and racial differences. The example of the Prophet Muhammad's life is the key to understanding Islam.

Love of Allah and His Prophet are essential to this understanding as Islam must dwell in the heart as well as the mind.

The teachings of Islam embrace all of mankind. Traditional Islam does not belong to any one culture or ideology. Traditional Islam never accepts the radical elements which deny Allah's mercy, compassion and love for all of His creation.

What is Sufism?

Sufism recognizes and nurtures the spiritual nature of human beings. Without nurturing the soul, any religion can become hard and dogmatic.
Islam's long legacy has been to nurture the spiritual nature of man........

The spiritual richness of Islam is the aspect that the fundamentalists and extremists have carefully extracted from their teachings, schools, and mosques.

This is something that has been systematically and consciously cultivated for many years.

Now, Islamic learning has become dangerously unbalanced without the teachings of its saints and shaykhs.

Because...
for the Extremist, Islam is about power.
For the Sufis, Islam is about Surrender.

Sufism teaches the importance of balance.
The whirling dervishes manifest this most eloquently in their dance.

Sufism teaches the importance of having a spiritual guide. The saints and shaykhs are our Tour Guides through the complexities and confusion of Life and the understanding of the nature of man and the Divine.

The Naqshbandi Sufi Way

The Naqshbandi Order is the way of the Companions of the Prophet and those who follow them. This Way consists of continuous worship in every action, both external and internal, with complete discipline according to the Sunnah of the Prophet.

It consists in maintaining the highest level of conduct and leaving absolutely all innovations and all free interpretations in public customs and private behavior.

It consists in keeping awareness of the Presence of God, Almighty and Exalted, on the way to self-effacement and complete experience of the Divine Presence.

It is the Way of complete reflection of the highest degree of perfection. It is the Way of sanctifying the self by means of the most difficult struggle, the struggle against the self. It begins where the other orders end, in the attraction of complete Divine Love, which was granted to the first friend of the Prophet, Abu Bakr as-Siddiq.

Historically speaking, the Naqshbandi Way can be traced back directly to the first of the rightly-guided caliphs, Abu Bakr as-Siddiq, who succeeded the Prophet Muhammad in his knowledge and in his role of guiding the Muslim community and indirectly to the fourth rightly-guided caliph, Ali Abi Talib.

A secret turning in us makes the universe turn.
Head unaware of feet, and feet head.
Neither cares. They keep turning.

As-Salaamu 'Alaikum Wr Wb - Thx for the invite. I do hope all the Sufi followers in this site form a group and befriended to each other in order to contribute to spread Sufism together.
Btw, this is what I have copied from your profile -> Love of Allah and His Prophet are essential to this understanding as Islam must dwell in the heart as well as the mind. This is called an INTELLECTUAL LOVE as explained by a Shaykh of Tareeqah Muhammadiyah.
