The biggest firework at the Arthur, IL Fireworks Festival failed to go off until it was a few hundred feet away from spectators on the ground. Several people recieved burns from flying sparks.

This was the firework (16 inch shell) at the end of "God Bless America". It was dedicated to two soldiers who died in Iraq. As you can see, it didn't go off in the sky and instead exploded on the ground. It showered everyone close to it in sparks, but as far as I know no one was hurt too badly and it could have been worse.

This video was shown on ABC Newschannel 15 in Champaign and then later on WAND (Ch. 17). :D
