A year-long study of U.S. History from Native American origins to the modern world. The instructional goal of this course is to have students demonstrate through discussions and essays how American society developed from Native American origins through reconstruction and how society has impacted both individuals and groups in America. Students will also demonstrate an awareness of how contemporary problems were caused by past forces. As students achieve this goal, they will develop analysis, critical thinking, historical reasoning, and writing. Group 1 course. Tom Gordon
