Sure you can, as I have a few teenagers that get their parents to buy the materials from my online store. On ties and sells his flies (also his own creations) to fly shops in B.C. Canada. He's even paid for his own Nor-vise (and bobbin) with what he makes. If you have good fly patterns, tied well that the store and fish want, the stores will buy them. More than a few commercial tiers started about your age of 11.

Hello im 15 years old and i have skimmed through most of your videos. I am an avid fly tyer and fisher man. I do mostly classic patters and ideas because i know they are very efficient and i was possibly wondering if you could make a twist on the classic lefty's deciever.

Many of my videos are designed to open people's minds to trying new things, to expand your skills, not to show how to tie a popular pattern that likely has 5 other people who already did a video on that same pattern.
I also have no desire to teach people to tie with old materials like deer hair and furs, as their are 10,000 articles, videos and books out with those. I find many new synthetic materials and find a use for those that others have not thought of and SHARE those with ya'll. Have FUN tying AND if the fly doesn't look perfect, fish it anyway AS the fish won't know. If cleaned trout that had stick and cigarette butts in their stomach, so they will likely try anything that comes before them, UNLESS fished heavily. |

Brandon...You have an excellent river to fish in behinf your house, as I used to go up to West Virginia in my late teens and early 20s to fish that same river with people I worked with who were from Romney and Morgantown. Don't tell everyone, as it'll get overrun with people like most places that get "famous". As I say in the videos, we all have great places close by to fish. With global warming I hope that the trout stay in that river for a good time. Many of the "famous" rivers in the catskills I fished as a youngster had people remove shade trees along them, they warmed and bass moved in.
