E-MU Classic Keys - First thoughts & Initial Review Organgrin... - 403 views - 3 weeks ago
I've only had a few hours with this unit but I am thoroughly surprised. Here I go though just a small handful of the 512 presets. Short answer, It sounds wonderful.
Not shown here, but it is also a breeze to program. They did a superb job sampling the instruments as well. This has the best Mellotron samples I've heard on a rack unit, and the Hammond is beautiful. The Electric pianos really shine, though the Rhodes is not quite as good as the WurliTzer (The wurlitzer I happened to land on sounds nothing as good as the un-effected sample).
The synth samples are very nice, albeit a little thin at times. However they give you many of the basic waveforms to work off.
I would certainly reccomend this to anyone looking to get some decent sound for live applications, without spending money on a new workstation, or if you don't want to lug around another board at all. MIDI works like a dream with this unit.

***Note: Unit is sitting on an Alesis Midiverb III, for anyone wondering***

The Moog Guitar - Julian Lage and Brett Comeaux MoogMusicInc - 275 views - 1 day ago
Julian and Brett stopped by the Moog Factory and checked out The Moog Guitar. It was great to see two

incredible players put the guitar through its paces.

This was right next to the Voyager production line. You can hear Voyagers being built in the

background.

For Retrochad. Some footage I had shot in the summer of 2006. Here you can see our International Harvester Model super C (correction, Model 200), with sickle-bar mower. This belonged to my great grandfather who kept it very well maintained.

4kV Jacobs Ladder Organgrin... - 305 views - 4 months ago
I was bored. I found an old neon sign transformer and decided to have some fun with it. As you can see, the arc is rather small. At the base it is only 1/8" and the corona arc at the top is only about 1". Still, a neat little light show. Enjoy!

UPDATE: After some experimentation after this video, I was able to create a stable arc flow with a much wider gap. The problem I was having before is the arc at 9kV was staying at the bottom gap. I found that it would flow if I made the tines more parallel with a wider gap... Maybe I'll make a followup vid later.

"Broadcast in Hi-Fi"
About Me: Organist and Cinematographer.

I've been playing various keyed-instruments since I was three years old. Grew up on a WurliTzer 4373 and eventually started working with different Hammond's such as the 1979 Aurora Custom, L-100's, M3, and others. I have to say my true pride and joy is my 1954 WurliTzer electrostatic reed organ.

I've been making films since 2000. I've attended Point Park University majoring in Cinema and Digital Arts, with a concentration in Cinematography. There I did work with various formats including HD and broadcast. Currently I am working on various low budget shorts for local directors.

Other hobbies include still photography. I really love and enjoy nature, animals, and the overall outdoors. I often spend time photographing and observing animals. I also enjoy landscape photography and capturing surreal and interesting perspectives. I am equally comfortable shooting both film and digital mediums.

I am also an avid audiophool who collects all sorts of equipment and albums. I love vintage audio components and find joy in restoring them to original and upgraded spec's. I listen to all kinds of music, and actively look out for albums on sale. One can never have enough vinyl, tape, or data!
