Nimbus II MovingBox... - 79 views - 2 months ago
Alexandra A. Grants installation entitled nimbusII (after Michael Joyce's "nimbus,") 2003, was part of the Contemporary Museum of Baltimore's exhibit entitled,
"Double-Take: The Poetics of Illusion and Light."

This work, a drawing without paper, is a sculpture in twisted wire filigree that hangs from the ceiling like an ephemeral cloud. Grant has shaped the wire to create an infinite line drawing with embedded passages of text that when hung from the ceiling casts a delicate shadowy double of these words on the gallery walls.

The Elephant's Lullaby lyrics

In the jungle, late at night
All the little elephants are tucked in tight
Except that one little elephant won't close her eyes
And so we sing the elephant's lullaby

All the animals under the stars
Listen for the sound wherever they are
And by the light of a jungle moon
Big Mama Elephant starts to croon
She sings go to sleep, little elephant
Go to sleep (Chorus)
Little elephants need to get their rest
To grow up big and strong
To make their ears so big and floppy
To make their trunks so long

All the elephants like to play
Hide and seek and tag all day
They slide down trees and swim in the creeks
And take a long bath every day of the week
But at the end of the day
It's time to hit the hay (Chorus)

So if your elephant has been up late
Is tired and hungry don't hesitate
Just give 'em some peanuts so they don't cry
And then sing the elephant's lullaby
It goes Go to sleep, little elephant
Go to sleep (Chorus)

This Is How We Do It MovingBox... - 523 views - 11 months ago
Here's some footage from construction of our studio.

Green screen is about 10 feet high, walls measure 14 feet, 19 feet and 21 feet, making it 540 square feet. Took a little under five hours to paint, just over two gallons of paint. Probably could have done it with two if I conserved on the first coat. One of the omni bulbs blew shortly after I started painting, so I had to move the light around to work.

Nick drawing a new sketch of Poseidon for a short Olympus Burger piece.

Dave, Connor and Chris laying down wood flooring in the Animation Room.

Temporary Animation room buzzing with activity.
