Ive seen no evidence that W is a christian. He says he is but I suspect he has no idea. He seems to be a brainwashed drone. The story told by Cathy O'Brien comes to mind. As bizarre as her story is, it seems credible. When the enemy sends out a moron to do untold damage to the People, of course they will set him up as a "devout christian" or whatever. Contrary to popular opinion, the impact of christianity on society is overwhelmingly positive. Fake christians like Mr Bush dont count. Cheney probably calls himself a christian too. Give me a break. Any astute political strategist would wear the cloak of the dominant religion. Just as they would kiss stinky babies and eat food of unknown origins. I try to take all labels with a grain of salt. Otherwise I would fall for such nonsense as the USA Patriot Act being patriotic or the Civil Rights Act being about civil rights.

You have shortchanged us! We get 72 virgins, not 32.

How dare you!!!!

Where is the proof that Hitler was an atheist? Now you are being irrational!!!

Peace,
Alan

Root of all evil is irrationality. Root of most irrational thought is religion, not just religious fundamentalism. Most people of religion could easily become fundamentalist given the right circumstances. I hope it won't be long before science finally rids us of religion's poison.

I'd like to show my support for this message. Irrationality is truly the ultimate evil, and rationality is the ultimate means to the good life, and the essential virtue.

eudaimonia,

Well, here's my take on your sputum:

1.) Your opinion's are not to be given any credibility since you refuse to reveal yourself. Just like the KKK....the only point you have is the one under your hood.

2.) Check your own irrational 'facts'. Hilter was a professed Christian, yet you threw him into the atheists category.

3.) You say that believing without empirical evidence is "the ultimate evil".
Ninety percent of the world calls it faith.

You are mistaken when you classify Hitler as an athiest. He was indeed a devout catholic. You cannot call Stalin and Moa athiests either, they suffered from the same delusion as Hitler did. Thay all believed that they were god. I cannot name any conflict the an athiest has started. We are as diverse a group as you can imagine. One more thing, atheism is not a religion. Look the word up, we don't fit the definition.

Any rational person would have to reject any "faith" based religon because essentially faith denies proof. This does not make an atheist rational necessarily just less irrational than any "believer".

More and bloodier wars have been caused in name of religon than any other "cause". No one ever went "over the top" yelling "A Better Standard of Living", no you can only engage young men's enthusiasm for war by appealing to their irrationality. You notice I say young men rather than young people because scratch any of the hundreds of denominations of Jewish/Chistian/Muslim and most other faiths and you will find a boys club playing dominance games and lining their own pocket's, ego's and power bases.

Why else is "God" always depicted as HE when any rational person knows it is the female gender that does ALL the creating and most of the nurturing and loving when it comes to human race.

Rationality is not the be all and end all of existence but it is a damned good start. (:-)}

Have to correct you, Hitler was not an atheist. He was Catholic.

Interesting that while you made sure to say "Christian Fundamentalists" and "Muslim Fundamentalists", you grouped all atheists as "Atheists".

Take a long, hard look at your own preconceptions.
