専門は微気象（植物と大気との間でおこなわれる物質輸送のメカニズムを探る） 、主にアラスカの森林を対象とする。

研究の傍ら、趣味でオーロラを始めとするアラスカの自然の写真撮影、微速度撮影による動画作成を行っている。
