thanks for thinking of me,,,i know chaplins "great dictator" very well, i must have viewed at leat 10 times, the speech segment was probably the most powerful part of the film and a bit surprising considering it was made as a comedy, but it was undoubtedly something chaplin did -even if out of character- that he wanted the public to hear and think about. its not my favorite chaplin movie but its a masterpiece for so many different reasons,, the speech will never become obsolete i fear due to certain segments of different cultures being unwilling to even tolerate each other. hopefully peace will prevail and prevent the earths -as we know it anyway- untimely mindless destruction!
